Mrs. Schafer is a very cool science teacher here at
JHS. As she was, growing up she looked up to her dad, because he was tough
and loved to take her on adventures. As she was growing up, she attended
Marion High School. She then attended SIU-C, SIU-E, and Governors State
University, also John A Logan. She has been a wonderful teacher for a
whopping twenty-six years. WOW! That is a very long time! While teaching
she loves to share things that she finds interesting, and likes to see
students improve and mature. She loves to get to know her students and
have them in her class. In her spare time, she likes to go scuba diving,
golfing, swimming when it is not to cold to swim and to walk her two
little rat terriers named Scout and Opie. Mrs. Schafer’s nephew, which she
helped raise, now is grown, and has two kids, Montana, and Cole.
