Mrs. Janet Burnett has been a secretary here at Joppa
High School for eleven years and enjoys each day that it brings. However,
some days she finds herself asking the question “Why are you doing this?”
Furthermore, she likes how no two days are ever the same and being around
people and kids. She graduated from Metropolis Community High School and
since has taken several courses at Shawnee Community College. While
growing up in this area, Mrs. Janet Burnett looked up to her dad and she
considers it the highest compliment if someone tells her that she is “just
like her father.” She is married to her Husband Randy and has been for
thirty-three years. She has three sons, Chad, Dennis, and Kirk, all of
which are married. She has five grandkids already; Caitlin, Brandon,
Isaac, Bryce, and Austin, and her newest addition. Her
husband has a chocolate lab named Chip. She enjoys baking, counted
cross-stitch, reading even though she has very little time to do these
things. It is very clear to all students at JHS that she plays an important
role in this school and we deeply thank her for all her hard work. Thank
you, Mrs. Janet!
